You’re in for a bellissimo journey to the spectacular capitals of Italy and a Bavarian village that kept its 17th-century covenant
with God. On arrival in Rome, transfer from the airport to your hotel. Spend the day at leisure before joining your Travel Director for a Welcome Dinner and orientation drive.

We embark on an included sightseeing tour with a Local Specialist at the Vatican Museums this morning. Here, we’ll ‘Dive into Culture’ and pay tribute to the great men whose astonishing works were said to have been inspired by the divine. See the Bramante staircase, the magnificent frescoed ceiling painted by Michelangelo in the serene Sistine Chapel and his sorrowful Pietà during our visit to St. Peter’s Basilica. We tread in the footsteps of gladiators, slaves, merchants and royalty, crossing the Tiber River into Imperial Rome to visit the ancient Colosseum, the largest amphitheatre in the Roman Empire. Enjoy the afternoon to discover the Eternal City or relax at a pavement café.

The narrow lanes and expansive piazze of Rome are yours to explore today. Ask your Travel Director for tips on what to see and do, or consider an Optional Experience delving into the tragic history of Pompeii.

Enjoy some free time before we continue to the mystical town of Assisi, built on the fertile slopes of Mount Subasio in Umbria, home to St. Francis and St. Clare. Relax at your hotel this evening.

Your Local Specialist reveals a town that has changed little since the time of St. Francis, who was born here in 1182. We visit the Basilicas of St. Francis, St. Clare and St. Mary of the Angels and the Porziuncola. We then travel to the Carceri Hermitage where St. Francis came to pray and visit the Monastery of St. Damian. Later enjoy some free time in Assisi.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast (or attend a local church service) before continuing our journey through the scenic Tuscan countryside to La Verna Sanctuary, where you cans enjoy the quiet and peaceful surrounding. Continue onto the spa-resort of Montecatini Terme in Tuscany, your home for the next 3 nights.

Spend the morning learning about the city’s artistic heritage during a walking tour with
a Local Specialist. View the multi coloured Duomo and visit Piazza della Signoria and the Ponte Vecchio, one of the city’s most famous landmarks. Visit a fruit and vegetable market
in Florence, where you meet a Local Specialist and gain an insight into Italian cuisine from a professional chef. Here you will participate in purchases of the fresh produce for your cooking lesson. Take your produce to the restaurant and spend time together preparing your delicious luncheon with a glass of wine! After enjoying a relaxing and memorable lunch return to your Tuscan villa for the night. Your evening is free to do as you please.

A sea of pastel pinks, yellows and blues cling dramatically to the Ligurian cliffs in the charming Cinque Terre (Five Lands) UNESCO World Heritage Site which we will have an opportunity to explore today on our included excursion.

After a leisurely start to your day, explore Innsbruck on your terms or discover the city’s ties to the Winter Olympic Games. Later, travel to the Bavarian town of Oberammergau where tomorrow devout villagers will perform their once-in-a-decade Passion Play. This evening dine at your hotel.

Witness a Trafalgar Highlight and display of enduring faith - a performance that gives thanks to God’s grace every ten years since 1634, when the villagers of Oberammergau pleaded to God to spare them from the ravages of
the plague. Take your premium seats for this poignant performance depicting the life and death of Jesus Christ. Dine at a local restaurant this evening, before returning to your seat for the captivating second half of this performance as night falls.

Travel to Munich, capital of Bavaria. Your
day begins with an orientation tour of this exciting city. See the Marienplatz, featuring
the Glockenspiel clock and the Town Hall. This evening, we’ll soak up the atmosphere with a stein of beer and Fraewell Dinner at one of the beer halls, for which Bavaria is world-renowned.
