Women of the Bible is a tour dedicated to the stories of women in the Bible. These are the ancient stories of women that tell of struggle, joy, and tragedy; but at the same time convey the compassion and love for God that women today experience in life.

We will explore the sacred spaces where the women of Bible, all encountered challenges but found sacred wisdom to foster grace in their unfolding encounter with God.

A very special part of the program is the integration of local women whose voices will inspire us and enrich a vision of life in Israel and Palestine today. Their laughter and their tears will deepen our learning and devotion to embracing the women’s stories in Holy Scripture.

Travelling with like-minded women, we expect this tour to be full of lots of conversation and laughter, where friendships will be made and life-long memories will be created.

Here is what some of our 2019 tour participants had to say:

“I fully recommended the Women of the Bible tour. I found our Jewish tour guide and Jewish bus driver excellent. To be in only 3 hotels for 10 nights was appreciated greatly.”

”Having just returned from the most amazing experience of touring Israel with Selah!! I highly recommend travelling with the wonderful Selah team.”

”I just had a wonderful time of learning and sharing with really lovely people. Thank you for everything.”

“The combination of the other ladies on our tour, Gabriela our guide and Kobi our driver, was an amazing blend of people and would be very hard to have again. I think we were truly blessed.”

“Gabriela – what a godsend of a guide! Passionate, caring, knowledgeable, strong, wise – a real leader. I loved how she was honest and transparent! She bought something to the tour that blessed us all! Having her sing a Jewish blessing over us was such a moving moment and not a dry eye on the bus! The way she looked after us, changed things to ensure we had the best experience possible! I loved how passionate she was about her country, politics and life! She was exactly the right guide for this tour!!! I know we all miss her!!!!”

Archdeacon Emeritus Ray McInnes and his wife Glenys have had over forty years’ experience serving the Anglican Church in Parish Ministry. Ray and Glenys both retired from full time work last year. Ray was previously the Vicar at the Albert Park parish for 12 years during which time they successfully led four Christian pilgrimages and tours overseas.

They have a passion for travel and enjoy sharing new experiences and places with fellow travellers. Their daily reflections in this context often become a highlight of the journeys they lead. As always, their contribution to the journey is teamed with the marvellous support and planning of the Mission Travel/Selah Team.

Ray and Glenys recently cruised the River Danube and look forward to revisiting with fellow travellers this beautiful part of the world and adding to it the famous Passion Play at Oberammergau staged only once every ten years.

Travel to London, Oxford, Cambridge and enjoy a 2 day retreat in the Cotswolds as we discover the life and works of C.S. Lewis and other well known Christian writers.

A wonderful tour of England discovering the life and works of theologian and author C.S. Lewis as well as other well-known Christian authors including JRR Tolkien, GK Chesterton and preacher Charles Spurgeon.
The tour commences in London where we will visit significant Christian sites including Westminster Abbey and St Paul’s Cathedral. We continue to Oxford where Lewis, Tolkien and others worked and live. We will see Lewis’s home, local church and of course Oxford University where he taught. Lewis, Tolkien and others known as The Inklings met in Oxford pubs to critique each other’s work and enjoy fellowship together.
C.S. Lewis loved spending time in the Cotswolds and Selah is thrilled to include a 2 day Christian retreat in this tour at a beautiful centre for Christian healing. This will give you time to enjoy the English countryside and have ”Selah time” with God and your travelling companions as you go deeper in your faith.

Following on from our retreat in the Cotswolds we continue to Cambridge where Lewis was (finally) made a professor. This stunning university town is also considered the “seat of the English Reformation” and enjoys a rich Christian history.

We return to London for the conclusion of our tour with the option of staying on to attend the Alpha Leadership Conference at Royal Albert Hall on 3-4 May 2021.

The Camino Walk in Northern Spain has been a spiritual journey since the Middle Ages. Today the walk attracts people from all over the world, searching for purpose and meaning. The Camino Walk in Northern Spain has been a spiritual journey since the Middle Ages. Back then it was believed that if a pilgrim took the journey their sins would be forgiven!

Today the walk attracts people from all over the world, searching for purpose and meaning. As a group of Christians, this is an intentional walk wanting to engage with others along The Way. Invite others for chats at night or as you walk, share your story of faith.

The walk ends in the town of Santiago de Compostela, where it is believed the remains of the apostle James are held in the crypt under the Cathedral. For this reason, the walk is known as the Way of Saint James (even though his remains came by boat!).

The scallop shell, found on the shores in Galicia, has long been the symbol of the Camino de Santiago, and is a common signpost along the path to guide pilgrims in the direction of Santiago.
Whatever your reason for walking you will be inspired by the beauty of God’s creation as you walk, you will encounter different people along the way and you will have Selah moments with God as you connect with Him on your walk.

“Fun, fellowship, food, faith; The Camino with Selah will remain one of my special life moments. The quiet contemplation of walking, the food and fun at the end of the day, vistas too glorious to imagine, from hills to valleys, farmland and villages, with always a welcome “cafe con leche” along the way. And the arrival at the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela; the pinnacle of the trip. A truly fabulous experience, not to be missed!”  Judi Bancroft, VIC.
